About The Position

The Catering & Events Intern will work closely with the Senior Catering Manager at the University of Arkansas–Fayetteville to learn catering sales and operations. The intern will work directly with catering clients to coordinate event details, including menu selections, tastings, linen rentals, setup, and floral design, and will learn to set up and execute events according to event-specific timelines and guidelines. Success in the role requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This is a paid internship for an undergraduate student. The schedule will be determined based on class schedule and business needs, with evening and weekend availability needed if required. The position pays $13.50 per hour and is not eligible for paid time off or medical, dental, vision, or other benefits. Because the work is in an educational facility, work may be reduced or paused during school breaks; such periods may be unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, work may be required year-round, potentially at another location during breaks.
