About The Position

As Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting classic and creative alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging with customers, and ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience. Creativity, knowledge of mixology, and excellent customer service skills help establish the operation’s reputation as a go-to destination for exceptional drinks. This exciting concept is developed in partnership with Chef Johnny Curiel and Kasie Curiel, co-founders of Fonda Fina Hospitality—the team behind the Michelin-starred Alma Fonda Fina. The original Alteño in Denver, Colorado, was recently named to Condé Nast Traveler’s “Best New Restaurants in the World: 2026 Hot List.” Chef Johnny Curiel is also a current James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef: Mountain Region.

Requirements

  • Prior bartending experience.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
  • Are organized and proficient at multitasking.
  • Are a reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment).
  • Passion for Food & Beverage.
  • A minimum of 1 year of similar work experience.
  • Experience in Beverage operations.
  • A team player, hard worker, and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of full food and drink menu while making recommendations.
  • Create a diverse range of handcrafted cocktails, mocktails, and other specialty beverages with precision and flair, using high-quality ingredients, techniques, and garnishes.
  • Continually innovate and introduce new and exciting drink creations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by warmly welcoming guests, engaging in friendly and professional conversation, and understanding their preferences.
  • Offer recommendations and suggestions based on their tastes, ensuring a personalized and enjoyable experience.
  • Efficiently and accurately take drink orders, prepare them promptly, and serve beverages with attention to detail and presentation.
  • Ensure all orders are prepared in compliance with company standards and specific customer requests.
  • Demonstrate an extensive understanding of classic and contemporary mixology, including various spirits, liqueurs, bitters, and other ingredients.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and new techniques within the industry.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all glassware, utensils, and bar tools are sanitized and readily available.
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and responsible for rotating and throwing away to maintain quality control.
  • Performs opening side work and set up station.
  • Attends and participates in any training sessions, department meetings.
  • Proper serving of wine and alcohol (with awareness).
  • Properly executes closing procedures.
  • Follow high standards of food product, sanitation, storage, and handling procedures.
  • Provides guest check promptly and returns receipt promptly.
  • Keeps all service and table areas clean, organized and stocked.
  • Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact respectable conversation and smiling.
  • Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials.
  • Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by federal and state guidelines.
  • Have knowledge of state and federal liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcohol.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned by management.
  • Guarantee neat and quality service.
  • Participate in daily shift meetings.
  • Follow company cash handling and payment tendering procedures with care.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards with self and colleagues.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
