Requirements

Prior experience in alcohol beverage service.
Knowledge of liquor service standards, compliance laws, and responsible service techniques.
The ability to complete alcohol service training.
A working knowledge of acceptable forms of identification and the ability to identify altered or false IDs.
Proficiency in counting money and making correct change.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to ring in orders and settle checks using a Point-of-Sale system.
Proficiency in English.
The ability to create a positive experience for guests to encourage repeat business.
Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent guest service and greet guests by name.
Stock beer, soda, liquor, glassware, and paper products at the start and end of each shift.
Make cocktails according to specifications and offer drink recommendations.
Keep the bar area clean and wash bar dishes.
Know the location of all necessary items and use a checklist to ensure everything is stocked.
Attend pre-shift meetings and stay informed about promotions and events.
Enter all drink orders into the POS system accurately.
Use FLAG protocol when serving alcohol to guests under 35.
Adhere to all policies and laws.
Identify signs of intoxication and stop service appropriately.
Ensure TVs are tuned to major sports or news channels.
Notify the supervisor of any issues.
Create a positive experience to encourage repeat business.
