About The Position

Apex Entertainment in Virginia Beach is hiring outgoing, energetic Bartenders to prepare drinks and deliver welcoming, memorable guest experiences in a high-energy environment. Bartenders mix cocktails, beer, and other beverages; follow recipes; recommend drinks and pairings; and serve alcohol responsibly. They maintain a clean, organized, and stocked bar, complete opening and closing tasks, and meet health and safety standards. The role also involves supporting events and other facility needs, communicating with the team, and maintaining a positive attitude during busy shifts. Flexible availability, including nights and weekends, is required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
• TIPS certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Cash-handling experience.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Event bartending experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails, beer, and other beverages quickly, skillfully, and accurately.
• Follow established recipes and provide knowledgeable recommendations about drinks, spirits, and pairings.
• Check identification and monitor guest consumption to ensure responsible alcohol service.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide professional, enthusiastic guest service.
• Answer guest questions and share knowledge of menu and drink offerings.
• Clean, organize, and stock the bar; perform opening and closing duties, restocking, and inventory checks.
• Follow health and safety standards.
• Assist with phones, servers, special events, private parties, corporate gatherings, and other assigned tasks as needed.
• Stay aware of activity throughout the facility and anticipate guest needs.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and leadership, maintain a positive attitude, and support teammates during service.
