About The Position

Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and service-driven Bartender to provide exceptional beverage service while creating memorable guest experiences. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and delivering the high level of hospitality that reflects Omni Hotels & Resorts' commitment to excellence.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending experience in a hotel, resort, upscale restaurant, or high-volume establishment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash handling and inventory.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) as required by South Carolina law.
  • Food Handler certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and brand standards.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by engaging with guests in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner.
  • Recommend wines, cocktails, beers, and spirits based on guest preferences.
  • Accurately process guest orders and payments through the POS system.
  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all state and local alcohol service regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Stock and replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies throughout each shift.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to management.
  • Prepare garnishes and complete opening and closing side work.
  • Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and fellow team members to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Maintain proper sanitation, food safety, and health department standards.
  • Promote resort dining outlets, special events, and beverage promotions.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing training programs.
  • Follow all Omni Hotels & Resorts policies, procedures, and safety standards.
