About The Position

The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck is seeking a part-time Bartender for the 2nd shift. This role is responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant, including guest service, bartending, table service, and side work. The ideal candidate will provide a fun yet professional environment by engaging with all bar guests and adhering to the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel's AHC guest service standards. This position fosters a teamwork environment and aims to produce quality service for each guest.

Requirements

  • Must have previous bartending experience.
  • High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training.
  • Follow the AHC safety standards of our hotel.
  • Have full alcohol knowledge and knowledge of drink ingredients.
  • Know each menu item and its ingredients. Know what happy hour and other specials are.
  • Complete daily cleaning duties and side work tasks, takes pride in their work.
  • Report to work on time and rarely miss scheduled shifts. Correctly follow the department attendance policy.
  • Display a positive courteous and polite attitude, works well with others.
  • Take pride in their appearance and report to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and neatly groomed.
  • Follow our hotel green policies.
  • Follow AHC and Health Department Specs.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the daily operations of the restaurant including guest service, bartending, table service, and side work.
  • Provide a fun yet professional environment by engaging all guests of the bar.
  • Follow the expectations of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, including, following AHC guest service standards.
  • Create a teamwork environment in the restaurant and produce quality service to each guest.
  • Proper set up of all garnishes, alcohol, and wines for bartending service.
  • Maintain daily set up and/or breakdown of the bar area.
  • Be aware of events in the area and provide suggestions to guests.
  • Follow and maintain Health Department Specs, including filling out daily temp logs, rotating product first in, first out, and recording/disposing of expired product on the waste log.
  • Strive to exceed guest satisfaction and look for ways to provide the best possible service.
  • Understand all facets of job responsibilities and display the skills necessary to complete tasks.
  • Participate in department meetings and communicate freely expressing ideas, opinions, or views.
  • Communicate with management and other staff members.
  • Display a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues independently.
  • Utilize time well and be productive throughout the entire shift while meeting department standards.
  • Look for ways to save money by reducing waste and controlling expenses.
  • Try to generate more revenues by offering ideas and suggestive selling to the guest whenever possible.
  • Keep work area neat and clean. Pick up trash in public and back of the house areas of the Hotel.
  • Know where to recycle items for the department and consistently place them in the appropriate bins and recycling stations.
  • Attend TIPS training and properly card guests who appear under 40 years of age.
  • Be comfortable to pour wine, beer or make a mixed drink when a bartender is not present.
  • Daily set up of the bar.
  • Communicate with all restaurant staff daily drink specials.
  • Participate in the nightly ordering of alcohol and wines.
  • Participate in month-end inventories with the accounting department.
  • Communicate with restaurant managers any special needs of the bar.
  • Actively take care of each guest according to AHC guest service standards and department standards.
  • Monitor food and alcohol waste.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness and overall deep cleaning of the bar area.
  • Attend Department Meetings.
  • Communicate with management or team members.
  • Actively work in the restaurant's designated area: counter service, running food, and table service.
  • Perform any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by the General Manager or Food and Beverage Manager.
