About The Position

The Bartender delivers memorable hospitality through genuine, personable connections and engaging service from guests’ initial greeting through their departure. The role involves understanding guests’ needs and preparing beverages to established standards in a timely manner. The position is with Abe & Louie’s in Boca Raton and lists hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Requirements

High school education.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Previous bartending experience in a fine-dining environment.
Experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Must meet the local legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
Coordination skills to pour properly and carry several drinks and plates at the same time.
Adaptability and flexibility; attention to detail; effective communication; confidence; customer focus; initiative; problem-solving ability; and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards.
Deliver genuine hospitality and establish emotional connections with guests.
Contribute to the restaurant’s teamwork and success.
Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
Determine guests’ needs and make appropriate recommendations to enhance their dining experience.
Present offerings in a way that prioritizes the guest rather than selling them something.
Prepare drink orders for guests and servers according to recipes and in a timely manner.
Execute beverage tray service.
Answer guest questions about food and beverage offerings.
Follow alcohol-awareness procedures.
Handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately.
Process payments and handle cash accurately and professionally.
Communicate with managers and hosts about table availability and key table updates.
Follow up with guests about their meal and dining experience to support guest satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
Demonstrate a professional and gracious demeanor.
Perform opening, running, and closing duties accurately.
Perform other job functions requested by management.
