About The Position

We are looking for an outgoing and friendly Bartender to join our team! As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting and serving a variety of drinks to our guests, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a memorable experience for our guests. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for mixology, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills. The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center’s name reflects the contributions of the extraordinary entrepreneur, Andrew Higgins, who designed and built over 20,000 boats in New Orleans that were used in every major amphibious assault of World War II.

Requirements

• Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable
• TiPS Certification required; must obtain within 90 days of hire
• Display knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine merchandising specials
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Read, write and speak English fluently
• Working knowledge of drink service and bar terminology
• Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of bartending experience

Responsibilities

• Display knowledge of basic drink service and bar terminology
• Maintain work areas clean and organized
• Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner
• Clean bar, bar walk-ins, and liquor storage areas as assigned
• Stock bars at wells as assigned
• Check guests for proper identification
• Balance bank and daily receipts
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training
• Attend required meetings
