About The Position

The Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. The position is part-time at BLT Harbor Point in Stamford, Connecticut, with days and hours that may vary. Previous bartending experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $30.00 per hour.

The role involves following liquor regulations, preparing and serving drinks, maintaining beverage and garnish stock, handling payments and cash securely, and keeping the bar clean, organized, and attractively arranged. Requirements

• Previous bartending experience is required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state, federal, and company liquor regulations, including rules for serving minors and intoxicated guests.
• Set up assigned bars and requisition and stock beverages, supplies, glassware, ice, and produce.
• Maintain stock and prepare, cure, and store fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables to preserve product quality.
• Greet guests courteously and take or process drink orders.
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and prudent portion control.
• Check guests at the bar for proper identification.
• Recognize and respond to guest inebriation as trained, and demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
• Receive guest payments, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly completed.
• Lock up and store beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, and cash drops, and secure the bank.
• Perform general cleaning to meet health and safety standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive bar display.
• Wash and sterilize stemware.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
