About The Position
Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center is seeking a Bartender/Server to join their Food and Beverage Team. This role involves serving beverages and food to guests in a friendly and efficient manner, preparing drinks for other servers, and acting as a cashier. The position requires maintaining bar stock, preparing garnishes, greeting guests, mixing and presenting drinks, and handling cash and credit card transactions. Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience as a Bartender.
- Food handler certification (or equivalent).
- TIPS certification (or equivalent).

Responsibilities
- Serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.
- Prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests.
- Act as cashier for the bar.
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar, including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
- Maintain stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Promote and document orders for drinks.
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
- Handle all cash and credit card transactions using the point of sale to create a check for each guest to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
