About The Position

The Lead Bartender will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, serving, and mixing of classic and innovative drinks to meet guest expectations. The primary goal is to provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional guest experience. This role involves managing bar inventory, ordering supplies, maintaining relationships with the craft liquor community, and staying updated on drink trends. The Lead Bartender will also coordinate recipes, communicate menu changes, integrate new menus, create specialty mix-ins, introduce new products, and develop operational systems for the bar, including checklists, reporting, and tip sheets. They will maintain positive guest interactions, accurately mix and serve beverages, take orders, process payments, and ensure the accuracy of other bartenders. Additionally, they will maintain bar cleanliness, restock supplies, and ensure bottles and glasses are presented attractively. The role requires compliance with safety regulations and assisting in training new employees.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of serving techniques, standard cocktails, and fine wines.
  • Excellent knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
  • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Outstanding guest services skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal & written).
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle money and operate a cash register and POS system.
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Minimum 3-7 years food and beverage service and/or related food and beverage experience.
  • Must be able to obtain Sheriff's card and required work/health cards.

  • Ability to work flexible hours necessary including off hours, weekends and holidays in a 24-hour location.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation, serving, and mixing of classic and innovative drinks.

  • Keep track of bar inventory and order supplies.
  • Maintain relationships with distributors and brewers in the craft liquor community.
  • Scout popular drink trends within the community.
  • Coordinate recipes and integrate new menus.
  • Communicate menu changes and additions to bar management and ownership.
  • Make specialty mix-ins, such as simple syrups.
  • Introduce new products and marketing initiatives.
  • Create systems for everyday bar operations, such as checklists, end-of-night reporting, shift reviews, and updating tip sheets.
  • Maintain positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages.
  • Take beverage orders from guests, accept payments, and process credit card charges.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.
  • Oversee the accuracy of other bartenders on staff.
  • Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
  • Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar, including counters, sinks, utensils, and shelves.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner.
  • Understand and comply with all safety regulations and rules.
  • Assist in training new employees.
