About The Position

Sidecar is hiring a barista to run its coffee bar, craft high-quality coffee, and deliver warm, memorable guest experiences. The role involves preparing espresso, drip coffee, and other beverages to specification; maintaining consistency and presentation during busy service; and learning and refining coffee skills over time. Baristas may also support serving and, once trained, back-of-house work as operational needs require. The position emphasizes product quality, hospitality, cleanliness, food safety, teamwork, and dependability.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of barista experience at reputable coffee concepts.
• Understanding of espresso and drip coffee, including how to recognize quality by taste and dial in coffee.
• Ability to recalibrate coffee preparation to achieve and maintain a target tasting profile across batches.
• A friendly, personal, and professional approach to guest service.
• Ability to remain warm, accurate, and calm during busy service.
• Willingness to work in serving and, when trained, back-of-house roles as directed.
• Dependability and punctuality, including readiness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Pull espresso, steam milk, and prepare coffee beverages to specification with speed, consistency, and care.
• Finish drinks with clean, basic latte art.
• Taste espresso and drip coffee and recalibrate grind, dose, and extraction to achieve the desired flavor profile.
• Learn the coffee and doughnut menu, including ingredients, tasting notes, and pairings, and guide guests in their choices.
• Greet guests warmly, build connections with them, and remember regulars and their preferences.
• Step into serving and, when trained, back-of-house roles as required by the day and team.
• Keep the bar, equipment, and front of house clean, calibrated, and food-safe in accordance with health and sanitation standards.
• Communicate clearly, support the team during busy periods, and help prepare the next shift for success.
• Attend early-morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
