About The Position

Baristas prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, create espresso-based drinks, take orders, and handle cashiers. They explain menu items, prepare food, and focus on guest service. Other duties include proper food handling, stocking, bussing dining rooms, trash removal, dishwashing, cleaning guest and employee areas, re-stocking the outlet, and ensuring the highest guest satisfaction. Weekend hours may be extended due to Village Events. The role requires being team-oriented and able to multi-task. Shifts will vary and include weekends and holidays. This is a seasonal position with potential fluctuations in hours worked based on business volumes. The position functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with guests and employees, upholding a professional image, and striving to exceed guest expectations and create memories.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work calmly in a high-stress environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and organize.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, any times or days needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to negotiate stairs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to hear normal conversations in a busy, crowded environment.
  • Vision must be within normal range to work safely and to read written information.
  • Must have the dexterity to use all equipment and utensils normally associated with this position.
  • Must own non-slip shoes.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous coffee shop experience not required but is advantageous.
  • TIPS certification preferable, may be obtained after employment.

Responsibilities

  • Is always polite to guests and employees.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  • Transacts sales on a POS system in an efficient and friendly manner.
  • Ensures accuracy in cash handling, with drawers within .5% or $10 (whichever is greater).
  • Reports all thefts immediately to a manager.
  • Makes every attempt to please the guest.
  • Greets every guest, makes small talk, and thanks them for coming.
  • Supports team members through teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Is available to guests and employees at all times as a cashier.
  • Processes and completes orders according to outlet recipes and procedures.
  • Verifies cash drawer and reserve each and every shift before opening.
  • Keeps cash handling area stocked with necessary documents and clean.
  • Knows policies regarding payments accepted.
  • Continually cleans and organizes the location.
  • Assists with overall restroom cleanliness and duties when needed.
  • Accepts new responsibilities and transfers others as the role evolves.
  • Works as a team with other associates on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrates respect for co-workers.
