About The Position

We are currently hiring for a Barista to work at our coffee shop located inside the Phoenix International Airport. This role involves greeting guests in a courteous and friendly manner, accurately processing orders and payments using a POS system, and serving a variety of cold, frozen, and hot drinks, as well as food items. The Barista is expected to follow all recipes, practice portion control, and complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists. This includes performing general and specific cleaning tasks as assigned by a supervisor to maintain health standards.

Requirements

One year of experience working in food service environment
Verbal and written communication Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
Experience in dealing with problems involving customer service.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, etc.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
Receive payment from the customer and process change.
Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
Other duties as assigned.
