About The Position
Baristas at Blank Street help shape the customer experience and set the tone for each visit. As part of the founding Los Angeles team, the role offers influence over how Blank Street serves the city and early access to growth opportunities as the company expands. Baristas work with a close-knit team to serve a focused menu, prepare drinks to established standards, and create memorable customer experiences. The role involves delivering welcoming hospitality, maintaining a clean and organized café, supporting events and promotions, developing through training, and carrying out procedures that help shifts run smoothly. The posting describes both part-time and full-time schedules: part-time employees work 15–25 hours over three days per week, and full-time employees work 30–40 hours over four to five days per week. Both schedules require availability for two peak days, defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer service position; hospitality or coffee experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Able to lift more than 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Availability must meet café needs.
- Part-time schedule: 15–25 hours per week across 3 days, including 2 peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).
- Full-time schedule: 30–40 hours per week across 4–5 days, including 2 peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, welcoming, and engaging hospitality, with the goal of turning customers into regulars.
- Work as part of the team using company equipment, coffee, and matcha.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with local Department of Health and Blank Street standards.
- Partner with Operations and Marketing teams on events and promotions to reach new customers.
- Participate in ongoing training and help improve standards and processes.
- Master and follow procedures for cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening and closing.
