About The Position

Blank Street is hiring Baristas for its founding Los Angeles team. Baristas help set the tone for the customer experience by providing welcoming hospitality, preparing drinks from a focused menu, and paying attention to details. Team members will work with a close-knit group and have the opportunity to influence how Blank Street operates in Los Angeles, with access to growth opportunities as the company expands. The role includes serving coffee and matcha using company equipment and products, maintaining clean and organized cafes, supporting events and promotions, and learning company procedures. The position may be part-time (15–25 hours per week across 3 days) or full-time (30–40 hours per week across 4–5 days). Both schedules require availability for at least two peak days: Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Requirements

At least 1 year of customer service experience; hospitality or coffee experience is preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to lift more than 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
Availability must meet cafe needs, including at least two peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).
Part-time schedule: 15–25 hours per week across 3 days.
Full-time schedule: 30–40 hours per week across 4–5 days.

Nice To Haves

Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.
Experience in hospitality or coffee is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent, welcoming, and engaging hospitality to customers, with the aim of turning them into regulars.
Work as part of the team using company equipment, coffee, and matcha.
Maintain a clean and organized environment that meets local health department and Blank Street standards.
Partner with Operations and Marketing on events and promotions.
Participate in ongoing training and help improve standards and processes.
Learn and carry out procedures for cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening and closing.
