About The Position

The barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. He/she is also responsible for educating customers about our premium coffees and teas. The barista fulfills any other duties the supervisor assigns.

  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Requires knowledge of computer hardware, word-processing, spreadsheet and data base software, prefer experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Requires knowledge of business letter writing and business forms; office procedures, business English, including vocabulary, correct grammatical usage and punctuation, filing systems; and common office machines and their operation.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous work experience in customer service
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic

  • Prefer experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all customers are educated on our products and services
  • Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards
  • Follows all Company drink recipes and procedures
  • Develops an understanding of coffee and tea regions and the various differences in flavor and blends
  • Proficiently prepares blended and cold drinks provided by the store
  • Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items
  • Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner
  • Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness
  • Weighs, grinds and packs coffee per customers’ orders according to Company guidelines
  • Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers
  • Restocks shelves when necessary
  • Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash, etc.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals
  • Inform guests about specialty drinks, as well as answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
  • Able to take orders in a timely manner and account for all orders properly and accurately
  • Understand additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests
  • Able to use POS systems accordingly, and accurately be able to complete cash transactions
  • Guest maintenance and attention to detail throughout the guest’s experience
  • Finish all opening and closing duties on a deadline basis
