About The Position

As a Barista at Frasier, you will be a key part of the café experience, preparing espresso beverages and café items while helping create a warm, organized, and welcoming space for residents, guests, and team members. This role involves daily interactions that contribute to making Frasier feel like home. Frasier is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Life Plan retirement community, rooted in Boulder since 1960, with a mission to build community that inspires and celebrates life. Requirements

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear, respectful communication with residents, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (training provided).
  • Comfort learning point-of-sale systems and handling basic transactions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous barista, food service, or customer-facing experience preferred but not required.
  • Take pride in delivering friendly, attentive service and creating positive daily interactions with residents, guests, and team members.
  • Balance attention to detail with efficient execution, ensuring beverage quality, order accuracy, and presentation standards are consistently met.
  • Stay calm, focused, and professional while multitasking during busy café service periods.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, supporting peers and contributing to smooth daily café operations.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities, follow established procedures, and show up reliably for scheduled shifts.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, listening attentively and responding thoughtfully to customer needs.
  • Represent Frasier with professionalism, care, and respect while modeling the organization’s values in every interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, guests, and coworkers warmly and professionally.
  • Provide timely, accurate beverage and food service.
  • Build familiarity with regular guests and their preferences.
  • Prepare espresso drinks and café food items using standardized recipes.
  • Maintain quality, presentation, and portion standards.
  • Support catering or special café service needs as assigned.
  • Keep café equipment, workstations, and service areas clean and organized.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
  • Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks using checklists.
  • Replenish café supplies and condiments as needed.
  • Assist fellow dining team members to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Participate in peer-to-peer training with support from dining leadership.
