About The Position

The St. Anthony Hotel, a AAA Four Diamond luxury hotel in downtown San Antonio, is seeking a Full Time Barista for Anacacho Coffee and Cantina. The hotel, opened in 1909 and designated a national historic site, embodies old-world splendor. Requirements

• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods, up to approximately eight (8) hours per shift.
• Previous retail, coffee shop, café, or food & beverage experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in a fast-paced service environment.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously; basic written communication skills required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized barista station in accordance with food safety, sanitation, and environmental standards.
• Maintain a neat, professional, and guest-ready appearance at all times.
• Ability to comprehend reading materials and effectively speak, read, and write English to communicate with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Greet, serve, and engage guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner, creating a welcoming café experience.
• Accurately prepare and fulfill food and beverage orders in a timely manner while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Perform cashier duties, including accurate cash handling, processing multiple forms of payment, and operating the POS system.
• Quickly learn and apply service standards, beverage and food recipes, preparation techniques, and POS procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked barista station; communicate low inventory levels to leadership and assist with stocking and inventory as needed.
• Conduct oneself professionally at all times, with the understanding that all actions and communications are visible to guests.
