About The Position

Baristas are responsible for making all standard and specialty coffee and tea beverages for the dining room, cocktail lounge, and bar. They interact with guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. This role involves anticipating and accommodating guest needs, maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee station and venue, and communicating guest needs to support staff. Baristas prepare and deliver coffee/tea orders promptly, possess in-depth knowledge of the coffee and tea menus, and execute them to company standards. They also clear dirty service items, help ensure guest satisfaction, follow instructions, and support co-workers. Compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards is crucial. Responsibilities include setting up coffee stations, performing side-work, stocking supplies, and completing opening/closing procedures. They must report any breakage or damage immediately, attend pre-service meetings and training sessions, and learn by observing and sharing knowledge. A positive and professional attitude, knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, and teamwork are essential. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year previous food & beverage experience required.
  • Minimum 1-year previous barista experience required.
  • Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate.
  • Must have good positive energy throughout the day.
  • Must be able to print legibly for Team Members, management, and guests to read.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move quickly.
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Maintains a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards.
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

  • Previous experience in a fast casual/high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Makes all standard/specialty coffee and tea beverages for the dining room, cocktail lounge, and bar.
  • Interacts with the venue guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
  • Anticipates and accommodates the needs of the guests.
  • Maintains the general cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee station and entire venue.
  • Communicates the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staff, servers, managers, and chefs.
  • Prepares and delivers coffee/tea orders, when required, to tables/bar in a timely manner, and to the correct guests.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of the coffee and tea menus, and the ability to execute them to company standards.
  • Clears any dirty service items from the table after delivering coffee/tea orders.
  • Helps ensure guest satisfaction through active participation in service.
  • Follows supervisor’s instructions, communicates with and supports co-workers while being a team player.
  • Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Properly sets-up coffee stations, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
  • Responsible for making sure that all perishable items (i.e., milk) have not expired and if they are promptly discarding them, alert management of the waste.
  • Stocks coffee stations with all prescribed supplies.
  • Completes opening duties as assigned or directed.
  • Completes closing duties as assigned or directed.
  • Reports all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
  • Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings.
  • Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
  • Learns by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
  • Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
  • Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members.
  • Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned.
