About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing bar supplies as needed and maintaining a clean, well-organized work area. This role creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment. The Barback is responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service. They will set up bars for operation, cut fruit, stock ice, and empty garbage. The Barback supports bartender needs, maintains bar stock, and reports any maintenance problems to the Beverage Manager. They will work in their assigned location and shift according to department needs, maintain par levels, and order/deliver bar supplies. Additionally, they will sort bottles and corrugated cardboard for recycling, maintain bar cleanliness in accordance with Health Department standards, and may work as a Bartender as needed. The role requires attending and participating in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned, and performing work regularly and predictably. The Barback is also responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.

Requirements

  • Two months of on-the-job training.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of the operation of all bar equipment.
  • Knowledge of machines and equipment used, but not limited to, include cash register, EDI liquor dispensing equipment, beverage dispensing equipment, blenders, dishwashers, and coffee making machines.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around bar area.
  • Ability to retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area.
  • Ability to open and close bar, obtain all supplies necessary for mixing cocktails, and clean and maintain areas for which responsible.
  • Ability to be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.

Responsibilities
