About The Position

The Cambria Hotel in Detroit is expanding and looking for a dynamic and energetic Bar Back to join our team! About Detroit Cambria: The Cambria Hotel in Detroit features amenities that appeal to modern travelers, including immersive, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors - Contemporary and sophisticated guest rooms, complete with modern fixtures, abundant lighting, and plush bedding – Multiple food and beverage options - Flexible meeting and event space- State-of-the-art fitness center - Locally inspired designs. The primary role of the Bar Back is to assist the bartenders and servers so that they may do their job more easily and efficiently. Please note – this is a seasonal position. This position will be staffed from early spring through early autumn.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent observational skills and situational awareness.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including dealing with difficult and rude patrons
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior restaurant experience preferred.
Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and wipe.
Must be able to walk/stand for entire shift
Requires standing for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly

Responsibilities

Report for duty punctually and in full uniform.
Maintaining pars of soda, beer, and chilled wine in coolers.
Ensuring that bar tools are clean, organized, and in proper places.
Ensuring that glassware is clean and organized at the beginning, during, and after the shift.
Checking liquor stock, anticipating the need of back up bottles.
Making sure that juices are fresh and in good supply.
Maintaining clean bar area.
Washing all Glassware.
Removal of plates from bar top.
Wiping and drying the bar surface.
Removing/replacing bus tubs from the bar area.
Maintaining clean bathrooms.
Deliver food and drinks to customers on the rooftop
Ensure accuracy of orders and timely delivery
Bus tables and maintaining a clean and organized rooftop area
Other duties as directed.
