About The Position

The Barback is responsible for supporting beverage service operations by ensuring bars are fully stocked, organized, and operationally ready throughout events. This role plays a critical behind-the-scenes function by replenishing product, maintaining cleanliness, supporting bartenders, and assisting supervisors to ensure efficient, compliant, and uninterrupted service. Barbacks work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and are essential to delivering a positive fan experience through strong preparation, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, warehouse, or event-based environment considered an asset
  • Experience handling beverage products, kegs, or back-of-house support roles preferred
  • Smart Serve certification required (or ability to obtain prior to first shift)
  • Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced environments is an asset
  • Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to take direction and support multiple bartenders
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and operational standards consistently
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with bartenders and supervisors
  • Ability to prioritize tasks during peak service times
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing operational needs
  • Willingness to learn beverage operations with potential progression into bartending roles

Responsibilities

  • Stock, replenish, and rotate beverage products including beer, wine, spirits, mixers, ice, and bar supplies
  • Transport product safely from storage or warehouse areas to assigned bar locations
  • Assist with bar setup and breakdown before, during, and after events
  • Ensure bars remain clean, organized, and free of clutter throughout service
  • Monitor inventory levels during events and proactively restock as needed
  • Change kegs, replace CO₂, and ensure draft systems are functioning properly
  • Remove empty containers, cardboard, and waste in accordance with venue procedures
  • Support bartenders during peak service periods to maintain speed and efficiency
  • Follow all food safety, alcohol handling, and health & safety standards
  • Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment as required
  • Report product shortages, equipment issues, or safety concerns to a supervisor immediately
  • Comply with cashless venue procedures and restricted access requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support beverage operations and event execution
