About The Position

The Barback is responsible for keeping the bar fully stocked, clean, and operationally ready so that bartenders can focus on the guest. This role prepares juices and garnishes, restocks coolers and service areas, maintains the cleanliness of the bar throughout service, delivers food to bar guests, and handles setup and breakdown each shift. The bar runs at the pace the Barback sets behind it.

Requirements

  • Previous bar, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of beverage selections, garnish techniques, and bar terminology.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment while maintaining composure.
  • Clear verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with bar and service teams.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all juices, garnishes, syrups, and mise en place required for bar service before and during each shift.
  • Stock and organize all beverages in the bar area, including spirits, wine, beer, juices, mixers, and non-alcoholic selections.
  • Restock coolers, ice wells, glassware, and service supplies continuously throughout service without being prompted.
  • Polish glassware and silverware to BHC presentation standards.
  • Deliver food and beverages to bar guests accurately and promptly.
  • Serve and refill water, coffee, and tea for bar guests as needed.
  • Bus the bar: clear, clean, and reset guest positions throughout service.
  • Communicate with bartenders and servers regarding guest needs, modifications, and timing.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, service stations, and storage areas at all times.
  • Complete all opening setup, side work, and closing breakdown responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks including unexpected spills, floor maintenance, and waste removal.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local liquor laws.
  • Participate in preshift meetings and maintain current knowledge of menu, beverage, and wine offerings.
