Barbacks are responsible for completing opening and closing duties, which include setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and ensuring doors are locked. They are also tasked with setting up, stocking, and maintaining work areas, including ice, glassware, and paper supplies. Barbacks remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of work areas, the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools according to set-up guidelines. They must follow all company and safety/security policies and procedures, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and welcoming guests according to company standards are also key responsibilities. This role requires anticipating and addressing guest needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with appreciation. Effective communication, positive working relationships, and adherence to quality standards are essential. The job involves reading and visually verifying information, standing or sitting for extended periods, and performing tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and navigating various surfaces and stairs. Reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors must also be performed.
