About The Position

The Barback position involves completing opening and closing duties, which include setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises. The role requires stocking ice, glassware, and paper supplies, as well as removing soiled wares from the bar top and tables. Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of work areas, the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools according to set-up guidelines is essential. The position also requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies and procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. Uniform and personal appearance must be clean and professional, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting company assets. The role involves welcoming and assisting guests according to company standards, anticipating their needs, and fostering positive working relationships within the team. Responsibilities include reading and visually verifying information, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing physical tasks such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to navigate various surfaces and stairs are also necessary. Reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors must be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
  • Check with captain or supervisor before leaving at end of shift.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
  • Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
  • Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables.
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas, bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities.
