The Barback role is ideal for aspiring bartenders who love working behind the bar and are still learning mixology. This position supports the beverage operation by timely bussing and resetting the bar, running food and beverage items, and engaging politely with guests and teammates, including providing basic menu descriptions. Success in this role requires good communication, coordination, and teamwork, with an emphasis on having fun and creating memorable guest experiences.

Requirements

• Love working behind the bar
• Aspiring bartender and still learning the art of mixology
• Ability to communicate, coordinate and work well with other teammates in serving guests
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including on the weekends, holidays and nights

Responsibilities

• Support bartenders as directed with pre-shift prep, post-shift close, and in-shift maintenance
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organized work environment including stocking of supplies, washing and polishing glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.
• Stock the bar as necessary in accordance with company guidelines regarding liquor requisition
• Explain basic details of food dishes and beverages at time of delivery to guests
• Prepare basic non-alcoholic beverages such as water, coffee, tea, etc.
• Be an expert in the organization of the bar and where things are in the building as a whole
• Report to designated shift in assigned attire on time (if applicable)
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including on the weekends, holidays and nights
