The Banquets Manager is responsible for the operations of the Food & Beverage department, specifically focusing on banquets and meeting room setups. This role involves reviewing communication, determining staffing levels, assigning rooms and stations, and ensuring buffet décor and enhancements meet standards. The manager must effectively communicate changes within the Banquet Department and coordinate with the kitchen and other departments. Maintaining high standards for food, beverage, and meeting specifications is crucial, as is clear communication between Event Management, members, guests, the Banquet Chef, and the Front of House Management/Supervisor team. A daily recap of banquet information, including revenue, staffing, issues, weather, and covers, must be submitted to the Director of Food & Beverage. The role also includes developing and maintaining departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards, ensuring efficient execution of operations through proper delegation, and managing staff development, hiring, firing, evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Continuous training and coaching of direct reports and staff are essential to maintain a high level of service. The manager is responsible for weekly employee scheduling, performance evaluations, payroll reporting, daily timekeeping, tip reporting, and maintaining employee paperwork. Inspections of various areas, attendance at Food and Beverage meetings, and relaying information to associates are also key duties. The role requires problem-solving abilities and maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible work environment. Attention to detail in ensuring superior service, sanitation standards, and equipment functionality is paramount, along with active participation in preventative maintenance.
