About The Position

The Banquets Houseperson manually sets up, breaks down, and services meeting rooms in accordance with the hotel's quality standards. The role involves regular communication with a supervisor about event needs and maintaining meeting rooms and ballrooms so they remain presentable. Event setup experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in English and communicate effectively with guests.
Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
Knowledge of meeting-room equipment and setup styles, including different table types.
Ability to lift and move tables, chairs, and podiums weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to grasp, lift, carry, move, or push goods on a hand cart or truck weighing up to 500 pounds.
Ability to perform considerable physical activity continuously throughout the shift for room setup and breakdown.
Willingness to help coworkers and work as a team player.

Nice To Haves

Event setup experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Set up meeting rooms to guest specifications, transporting staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, and other materials from storage areas.
Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
Break down rooms after meetings and return equipment to storage so rooms can be reset for upcoming functions.
Follow an established cleaning schedule for meeting rooms and ballrooms.
Communicate with the supervisor throughout the shift to stay aware of event needs.
Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Help coworkers with their duties and contribute as a team player.
