About The Position

Provides banquet setup and service for assigned functions, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, hospitality suites, and other special services. The role includes food and beverage service before, during, and after events, as well as setup, cleanup, sanitation, and maintaining cash controls and storage areas. The employee must follow resort grooming, dress, safety, sanitation, and environmental practices; communicate with supervisors; and complete assigned duties. The position requires adapting to event changes, maintaining a friendly demeanor with guests, and working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Native American preference applies. A background investigation and drug screen are conditions of employment.

Requirements

Food service experience is helpful.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and be insurable under the Resort's policy.
Must be in good health.
Must be able to stand for long periods.
Heavy lifting is required.
Must be able to push heavy carts.
Must adapt and respond to last-minute event changes.
Must remain calm and friendly when interacting with dissatisfied guests.
Must be able to take direction from senior banquet staff.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and a flexible schedule.
Must pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Execute food and beverage service before, during, and after banquet functions.
Perform proper banquet setup, service, and cleanup.
Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Maintain proper cash controls.
Maintain storage area levels and cleanliness.
Follow grooming and dress standards in the Employee Handbook.
Maintain good rapport with fellow employees and a positive attitude.
Report to work on time, in uniform, and with proper tools.
Complete all assigned tasks.
Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety, including cleaning and sanitizing one's own work area.
Maintain open communication with the supervisor.
Understand and follow the resort's environmental practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
