About The Position

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is seeking a Banquet Set-Up Attendant to join their Banquets & Events Department. This role is responsible for preparing event spaces for various events, including corporate meetings, receptions, and weddings. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, a passion for service, and a strong work ethic to ensure flawless event execution.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in event or banquet setup (luxury hotel or venue preferred)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to exceeding expectations
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs, move quickly, and stay on your feet for extended periods
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a positive attitude
  • Communicate clearly and work well as part of a high-performing team
  • Flexible with scheduling — including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, staging, and A/V as needed
  • Follow event diagrams, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and timelines precisely
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free function spaces at all times
  • Communicate with Banquet Captains and fellow team members to ensure readiness
  • Assist with room refreshes, transitions, and quick turnarounds between events
  • Handle equipment and furnishings with care and attention to safety
