A Banquet Server is responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage items to banquet guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. The role involves maintaining a pleasant personality and demeanor throughout the function, providing food service in accordance with Hotel & Banquet standards, setting up action stations, and maintaining buffet displays. Servers are expected to engage with guests to determine food allergies, preferences, and dietary needs, and report these to the proper Banquet captain(s). Proficiency in coffee and tea brewing, understanding seating positions for plated events, and proper serving techniques are also required. The position includes completing daily side duties, post-function cleanup, organization, and deep cleaning of affected work areas, as well as reporting to pre-shift and post-shift meetings. Equipment must be stored in an orderly and clean fashion. The role also emphasizes delivering passionate and engaging service by recognizing individual guests, anticipating their needs, and consistently applying the GUEST model (Greet, Use eye and ear contact and guest’s name, Establish/anticipate needs, Solve and own all requests/complaints, Thank everyone). Employees may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed.
