About The Position

As a Banquet Server, you'll play an essential role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service at weddings, galas, conferences, and special events. Requirements

  • A warm, professional, and guest-focused personality with a passion for hospitality
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Serving It Right certification (required)
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional language skills are an asset
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight events as operationally required
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous banquet, restaurant, or food and beverage serving experience is preferred
  • Luxury hotel or large-volume event experience is considered an asset
  • FoodSafe Level 1 certification is an asset
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, friendly, engaging, and personalized service in accordance with Fairmont service standards
  • Prepare banquet function spaces by setting tables, buffets, service stations, and event areas with the appropriate equipment and supplies
  • Review banquet event orders, menus, service sequence, and guest dietary requirements before each event
  • Serve food and beverages accurately and efficiently using the designated service style for each function
  • Anticipate guest needs by replenishing beverages, clearing tables, and ensuring timely, attentive service
  • Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the culinary and banquet teams
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas throughout each event
  • Complete required event documentation, including billing and consumption records, as applicable
  • Work collaboratively with culinary, stewarding, and banquet colleagues to deliver seamless event execution
  • Follow all food safety, responsible liquor service, health and safety, and hotel policies and procedures
  • Participate in departmental briefings, training, and service excellence initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful banquet operations
