Banquet Server- On Call
About The Position
The Banquet Server serves guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods. This includes each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method. Have a passion for food and wine and exceptional service. Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table. Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen; Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. Greet guests in a professional manner and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order. Respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. Plate, prepare and serve food. Assist with set-up and breakdown of banquet events. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Legal work authorization in the United States required
Nice To Haves
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities. This will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Some travel may be required.
- Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in food and beverage service
- Strong oral presentation skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding events
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations
