About The Position

Functions as the strategic business leader of the property’s food and beverage operation, including Restaurants/Bars, and Room Service. Position oversees the development and implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures the food and beverage/culinary operation meets the brand’s target customer needs, ensures employee satisfaction, and focuses on growing revenues and maximizing the financial performance of the department. Develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property employees and provides a return on investment.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of guest service standards and satisfaction metrics
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and control financial resources
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, team leadership, and operational coordination
  • Business acumen with ability to align team actions to broader company goals
  • Skilled in sourcing, managing, and maintaining banquet equipment and materials
  • Current TIPS and ServeSafe certification
  • Minimum 4 years in banquet/event management or upscale F&B operations
  • Experience in all phases of banquet service and event execution
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and work flexible hours
  • POS system experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Food & Beverage to establish banquet operations in alignment with brand standards operational objectives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of banquet service standards, SOPs, and training programs.
  • Support the setup and readiness of banquet spaces, including equipment procurement, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding of banquet team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise and alignment with brand values.
  • Contribute to the creation of event service workflows and guest experience strategies tailored to the property’s positioning.
  • Estimate food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate purchasing needs.
  • Order and purchase banquet equipment and supplies.
  • Handles all AV and IT needs, including set up, breakdown and maintance of all AV equipment.
  • Set expectations and hold banquet team accountable for delivering elevated service experiences.
  • Review financial performance of banquet operations and support strategies to meet or exceed budget targets.
  • Provide input on CAPEX needs related to banquet equipment and space enhancements.
  • Identify operational challenges and collaborate with the Director of F&B to implement improvement strategies.
  • Establish realistic and measurable goals for banquet service execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to elevate service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in managing banquet department budgets, including labor, supplies, and event-specific costs.
  • Monitor actual vs. projected revenue from banquet events and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling and liquor control procedures during banquet service.
  • Maintain profitability while ensuring exceptional guest and employee experiences.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and sound decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and accountability within the banquet team.
  • Support achievement of departmental goals including financial, service, and team performance metrics.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement in banquet operations.
  • Facilitate regular communication through pre-event briefings, team meetings, and feedback sessions.
  • Build strong relationships with direct reports and ensure consistent leadership across the banquet team.
  • Identify developmental needs and provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay informed on market trends and contribute to the evolution of banquet offerings to remain competitive.
  • Deliver banquet services that exceed guest expectations and contribute to overall satisfaction and retention.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure understanding of guest needs and event details.
  • Review guest feedback and collaborate with the Director of F&B to implement corrective actions.
  • Empower banquet staff to take ownership of the guest experience and resolve issues proactively.
  • Balance profitability with service excellence by evaluating cost-benefit impacts of operational decisions.
  • Share guest feedback insights with property leadership to support continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear guidance and direction to banquet staff, setting performance standards and monitoring results.
  • Support wage and cost management through effective scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Conduct performance reviews and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Ensure open communication channels for staff to raise concerns and ask questions.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to address employee relations matters as needed.
  • Promote fairness, equity, and inclusivity within the banquet team.
  • Provide specific, actionable feedback to support individual and team development.
  • Finds innovative solutions for everyday problems
  • Keep the Director of F&B and other stakeholders informed of banquet operations and performance.
  • Communicate effectively across departments and with external partners to ensure successful event execution.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, solve problems, and improve service delivery.
