About The Position

This role involves analyzing banquet event orders to understand guest information, setup requirements, timelines, and specific guest needs for events such as buffets and action stations. The position requires setting up banquet areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement, and monitoring assigned stations for cleanliness, sanitation, and organization. It also includes inspecting storage areas for proper organization, adherence to First In First Out (FIFO) principles, and cleanliness, rectifying any issues found. Communication with guests and other employees is key to meeting guest needs and ensuring teamwork. The role also directs the final breakdown and cleanup of function rooms. Additionally, the position assists management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model. It requires adherence to all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and ensuring confidentiality are also important. The role involves welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Clear and professional communication, developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and responding appropriately to employee concerns are expected. The position requires adherence to quality expectations and standards, reading and verifying information in various formats, and performing physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 75 pounds with assistance. Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to navigate various surfaces and stairs are necessary. Other reasonable job duties may be requested.

Responsibilities

  • Read and analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations, etc.
  • Set up banquet area/room, ensuring cleanliness and proper set up.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Inspect storage areas for organization, use of First In First Out (FIFO), and cleanliness and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Communicate with guests and other employees to ensure guest needs are met.
  • Ensure staff is working together as a team.
  • Direct final breakdown and clean up of function rooms.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
