About The Position

This Full Time Housekeeping Aide position in Houston, TX, involves a comprehensive range of cleaning and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include cleaning closets and drawers, collecting and disposing of refuge and regulated medical waste according to established policies, and adhering to all safety protocols related to hazardous waste and soiled linen. The role requires maintaining confidentiality of resident and employee information, moving furniture and other heavy objects using proper techniques, and emptying and cleaning wastebaskets. The aide will also be responsible for making beds, changing linen, ensuring patient and non-patient areas are thoroughly cleaned (including washing, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming floors, windows, fixtures, furniture, bathrooms, lights, screens, and blinds), and ensuring dispensers are appropriately filled. All duties must be completed within required timeframes and according to established schedules.

Requirements

Must be able to handle/interact with all chemicals used
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and even hours as needed per assigned area
Depending on individual job assignment must be able to operate automated cleaning equipment/machinery
Performance of job duties requires standing, stooping, bending and walking for a duration of an eight hour shift

Nice To Haves

1 year previous housekeeping or maintenance experience preferred
6 months experience in housekeeping preferred

Responsibilities

Cleans closets and drawers as needed
Collects refuge and regulated medical waste and disposes of it according to the established policy and procedure
Adheres to all safety issues relative to hazardous waste, soiled linen and proper wearing apparel
Maintains residents/employee information confidential at all times
Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required utilizing proper lifting and/or transfer techniques
Empties and cleans wastes baskets, relines containers and liners
Completes job duties within required timeframe, according to established schedules or workflow requirements
Makes beds and changes linen
Ensures all check out and patient area cleaning is complete per all guidelines/procedures
Ensures that all non-patient areas are cleaned as assigned, to include, but not limited to, washing, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming floors, windows, fixtures, furniture, bathrooms, lights, screens, and blinds
Ensures that all dispensers are filled appropriately
