About The Position

The Statler Hotel, located on Cornell University's campus, serves as the practical hotel operations laboratory for the Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. It is committed to excellence in service and hospitality education, combining modern elegance with the vibrant energy of campus life. As part of the Statler Hotel's Culinary Team, the Banquet Pantry and Buffet Attendant prepares and presents high-quality buffet offerings while maintaining the highest standards of service for guests. The role involves supporting banquet events, working action stations, and collaborating with front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless guest experience. The Attendant is also responsible for mentoring student cooks and upholding professionalism in all interactions. Adherence to food safety standards and operational efficiency is essential to delivering the exceptional service expected at this 4-diamond hotel. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort
  • Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow cooking directions
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and self-motivated
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • A degree from an accredited College or University with a focus on Culinary Arts
