Requirements

  • One year or more banquet serving work history preferred.
  • Experience in hotel environment desired.
  • Previous banquet service required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Some level of management skills desired.
  • Refined verbal and written communication.
  • Be able to keep up with a fast paced environment.
  • Be able to carry tray to shoulder weighing up to 30 lbs without assistance.
  • Stand and/or walk entire shift.
  • Must be available nights and weekends.
  • U.S. Work Authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively acting as an authority/go-to person in the absence of the Banquet Manager.
  • Provide guests with quality food and service in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
  • Introduce yourself to contact person of event, make sure their requests are clear and properly executed by staff.
  • Follow BEO requirements.
  • Maintain proper uniform; clean and free of excessive wrinkles.
  • Set up banquet room(s) as instructed including linen and china.
  • Follow health and safety practices at all times.
  • Ensure all prep work must be completed prior to event start time.
  • Serve food and/or beverage; ensuring consistency throughout event.
  • Respond promptly to any guest request.
  • Set up buffets (as needed) to the standards established by the restaurant management.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude and mannerism.
  • Maintain clear and open communication between all staff for overall event success.
  • Maintain all work areas including any side work duties for overall productivity and success of the event.
  • Keep tally all consumed beverages and food items and any AV equipment used for event.
  • Ring out BEO and provide the copy to sales/catering staff for payment.
  • Respect all of your co-workers and managers.
  • Have fun at work; leave baggage at the door; come to work with a positive attitude ready and willing to help create a fun and memorable experience for our guests.
  • Once banquet is complete, all linen, silverware, china and trays must be removed from space.
