About The Position

Edge Catering is seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join their dynamic team as a Part-Time Banquet Captain. This role is responsible for overseeing banquet events from setup through completion, ensuring exceptional guest service and smooth event execution. The position is part-time, seasonal, and on-call, with shifts typically lasting 6-8 hours and scheduled based on event needs. Edge Catering, a locally owned and family-operated company serving Southern Arizona since 1998, has a reputation for exceptional food, outstanding service, and attention to detail, successfully executing over 300 events annually. Requirements

• Previous banquet, catering, or restaurant supervisory experience is preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional appearance
• Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past five (5) years may be required, as this position may involve driving a company vehicle to and from event locations.

Responsibilities

• Supervising banquet servers and coordinating event operations
• Ensuring banquet rooms are set up according to event specifications and BEOs (Banquet Event Orders)
• Greeting clients and serving as the primary point of contact during events
• Coordinating food and beverage service to ensure a seamless guest experience
• Monitoring event timelines and communicating with the kitchen and management throughout the event
• Assisting with event setup, service, and breakdown as needed
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment
• Addressing guest requests and resolving issues promptly and professionally
