About The Position

The Banquet Bartender delivers polished, efficient bar service for meetings, weddings, and special events. This role involves setting and striking portable bars according to BEO specifications, crafting drinks to standard recipes, managing cash and consumption programs, and upholding all alcohol laws and sanitation standards to ensure fast, accurate, and guest-focused service.

Requirements

  • High School Education Level
  • 1–2+ years bartending experience
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, classic and contemporary cocktails
  • Accurate jigger/free-pour technique
  • POS proficiency
  • Confident cash handling
  • Clear communication
  • Guest-service mindset
  • TIPS/TEAM/ServSafe Alcohol certification required or within 30 days
  • Able to work flexible hours (nights/weekends/holidays)
  • Able to stand/walk for entire shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50–75 lbs (kegs, cases, ice, portable bars)
  • Work in fast-paced environments
  • Work in indoor/outdoor settings as assigned

  • Banquet/catering or high-volume events experience
  • Food Handler certification

Responsibilities

  • Read BEOs/diagrams and set bars accordingly (portable bars, glassware, ice, CO2, kegs, product, signage).
  • Batch mixers/syrups and prep garnishes; label/date and rotate (FIFO).
  • Break down, count returns, and reset storage; leave spaces clean and organized.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages to recipe, portion, and presentation standards.
  • Provide wine/champagne service for toasts; execute specialty/crafted cocktails and mocktails as specified.
  • Pace service for receptions, plated dinners, stations, and cash/hosted bars.
  • Verify IDs, monitor consumption, and refuse service when appropriate; follow all local/state regulations and company policy.
  • Manage wristbands/tickets/drink limits for hosted packages where applicable.
  • Operate POS and handhelds; process cash/credit, comps/voids, and room/house charges accurately.
  • Reconcile banks, close checks, and complete captain’s summaries with accurate counts for hosted vs. consumption bars.
  • Maintain pars; change kegs safely; track pours and bottle usage; assist with ordering/receiving and monthly inventories.
  • Minimize breakage and waste; report variances and low stock to leadership.
  • Keep bars and backbar areas clean/sanitized; follow ServSafe/HACCP, SDS/chemical handling, and OSHA practices.
  • Coordinate with Banquet Captains, Culinary, and Servers for timing, dietary/allergy notes, and VIP needs.
  • Provide friendly, professional guest interactions and swift service recovery.
