This Bankruptcy Paralegal position is responsible for assisting with creditor legal proceedings, handling high-volume paperwork, conducting research, and preparing court filings. They must communicate cross-functionally with clients, courts, and attorneys in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • 1-3 years of bankruptcy or creditors' rights paralegal experience required; 4+ years preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Michigan court procedures and filing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and e-file legal documents with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Service as a key point of contact; responding promptly to inquiries via email, phone, and voicemail.
  • Provide clear, accurate updates on case status and escalate complex matters as needed.
  • Maintain and update case files, track deadlines, and ensure the timely progression of cases through the legal process.
  • Perform data entry, maintain case management systems, and ensure all documentation adheres to internal standard operating procedures and external regulatory requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
