Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years bankruptcy paralegal or bankruptcy servicing experience
  • We are open to train the right candidate as the work required is unique to our industry
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in document review and file handling.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Basic familiarity with the Federal Bankruptcy Code and Local Rules
  • Organization and the ability to track and interpret new data
  • Comfort with computers and software including document and data tracking software
  • Succeeds in working in a fast-paced, high volume, team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Receive new case information from a variety of sources including email, e-fax, vendor notice systems and client reporting systems
  • Organize and evaluate the information provided and obtain documentation from our clients needed to draft legal notices
  • Set up the new file information in our proprietary case management system as well as client operated systems
  • Conduct preliminary bankruptcy research and schedule deadlines
  • Draft documents for attorney and client review and approval
  • File attorney approved and executed docs via ECF
  • Monitor and update ongoing files as necessary, keeping internal and external systems current
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
  • May occasionally work extended hours based on operational needs.
