About The Position

Processes and researches payments according to account specifications for Lockbox customers. This role involves researching and resolving customer inquiries, completing entry-level reconciliation of internal department general ledger accounts, preparing daily reports, opening and preparing bank-by-mail deposits, and completing customer lockbox set-ups. The associate must understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls, identify risk-related issues needing escalation, and maintain internal control standards. The position also requires promoting an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Requirements

Associates’ degree, OR in lieu of a degree, A combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

Responsibilities

Research and resolve customer inquiries received from internal business partners.
Complete entry-level reconciliation of internal department general ledger accounts as required by assigned area.
Prepare daily reports utilizing standard worksheet templates.
Open and prepare bank-by-mail deposits for processing.
Complete customer lockbox set-ups utilizing internal department applications to allow for accurate processing of transactions according to customer specifications.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
