About The Position

We are seeking a banking professional with a proven ability to build trusted relationships with high-net-worth clients, successful business owners, and influential members of the local community. We’re looking for a relationship-driven professional who understands the banking industry, knows how to earn the trust of sophisticated clients, and can identify opportunities to deepen deposit and commercial banking, relationships. As a Banking Relationship Development Officer, you will represent the organization throughout the Manchester–Londonderry market, developing new relationships and serving as a strategic connector between prospective clients and the Bank’s financial solutions. This position is focused on expanding high-value banking relationships throughout the assigned market. You will proactively identify and engage prospective clients, develop referral partnerships, and work closely with internal banking teams to connect clients with the appropriate deposit solutions and commercial lending teams. Success in this role requires more than prospecting skills. The ideal candidate brings credibility within the banking or financial services industry, understands the needs of affluent and commercially sophisticated clients, and knows how to build relationships that generate long-term value.

Requirements

  • Experience in banking, financial services, business development, relationship management, commercial banking, private banking, or a closely related client-facing financial role
  • Significant experience building and managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, affluent clients, successful business owners, executives, and/or commercial clients strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success generating new banking or financial services relationships through networking, referrals, and business development activities
  • Strong understanding of banking products and services, deposit products, commercial banking relationships, and other opportunities
  • Experience working with commercially sophisticated clients and identifying complex financial relationship opportunities
  • Established professional network within the Manchester–Londonderry market or surrounding New Hampshire business community is highly preferred
  • Ability to build credibility and trust with senior-level and high-value clients
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong consultative communication skills with the ability to understand client needs and connect them with appropriate solutions
  • Self-directed and comfortable managing a field-based territory with significant independence
  • Strong business judgment, professionalism, and discretion when working with confidential client information
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant banking experience will be considered
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop new banking relationships with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executives, professionals, and other high-value prospective clients
  • Identify opportunities to grow deposit relationships and uncover other potential commercial banking opportunities
  • Develop and execute a strategic business development approach for the Manchester–Londonderry market
  • Build a strong pipeline through personal networks, referrals, centers of influence, community involvement, and targeted prospecting
  • Represent the Bank at business events, professional organizations, networking functions, and community activities
  • Identify market opportunities and provide leadership with insight regarding prospective clients, relationship opportunities, and competitive trends
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with affluent clients and commercially sophisticated individuals
  • Meet with prospective clients to understand their banking needs, and relationship expectations
  • Provide a highly personalized and consultative approach to relationship development
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact while coordinating with internal partners to deliver appropriate banking solutions
  • Develop strong relationships with referral sources and centers of influence, including attorneys, accountants, financial professionals, real estate professionals, and business leaders
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and relationship management to strengthen client loyalty and encourage additional banking relationships
  • Partner with Commercial Lenders, Business Development Officers, Retail/Branch personnel, Back Office Operations personnel, and other internal teams to support client needs
  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to commercial banking, the Bank’s commercial real estate lending team, and deposit services
  • Assist in facilitating a seamless onboarding experience for new banking relationships
  • Ensure prospective and existing clients receive responsive, professional, and personalized service
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal banking partners throughout the relationship development process
  • Maintain an active and well-organized pipeline of prospective banking relationships
  • Document prospecting activities, client interactions, referrals, and relationship opportunities accurately
  • Track progress toward new business development and relationship growth goals
  • Develop and maintain a disciplined schedule for prospecting, networking, client meetings, and follow-up
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding pipeline activity, market opportunities, and relationship development efforts
  • Maintain compliance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable banking standards
