About The Position

The Banking Officer develops deeper relationships with new and existing credit union members by identifying needs and offering suitable account and loan options. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. The role provides information about credit union services, supports account opening and onboarding, resolves member service questions, and looks for opportunities to better serve members through relevant products and services. The Banking Officer also operates and balances a cash drawer and assists Member Service Representatives and Tellers when possible.

Requirements

High school education or GED.
One to three years of similar or related experience.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities

Provide new and existing members with information about accounts, consumer loans, auto loans, and mortgage loans.
Open new member service accounts and resolve member service questions or problems while identifying cross-sell opportunities.
Follow onboarding procedures for all new members.
Stay informed about credit union promotions, products, and services.
Conduct member interactions according to the standards of the Managing Service Excellence program.
Follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and security procedures.
Provide product knowledge and be prepared to compare products with those of competitors.
Keep abreast of federal regulations and comply with applicable laws.
Work cooperatively with coworkers, maintain a neat work area, and perform other duties as required by management.
Maintain confidentiality in employee, member, and credit union affairs where appropriate.
Operate and balance a cash drawer.
Assist Member Service Representatives and Tellers when possible to provide prompt service to members.
