The Bank Examiner Trainee works as an integral member of the Banking and Financial Institutions Division’s examination team to evaluate financial institutions for safety and soundness. Examiners are responsible for gathering and analyzing financial institution data to assess their financial and operational condition, assess their adherence with applicable laws and regulations, and inform, support, and develop recommendations and conclusions using technical writing. This role offers the opportunity to advance in a career ladder, take on increased responsibility and compensation without changing positions, work as a member of a professional team on various projects at diverse financial institutions, travel on-site to banks and credit unions and for training (up to 30% of the time), collaborate with colleagues and management teams across the State, and participate in a well-established community of practice. This recruitment will fill two positions, based in Helena and Billings, Montana. Telework is available for both positions, with required in-office days at the assigned location.
