About The Position
Engineered Steel Products (ESP), a New Page Capital Company, is a North Carolina-based steel fabrication company providing structural and miscellaneous steel for the construction industry. The company is hiring a full-time Band Saw Operator to work onsite in its processing area in Sophia, North Carolina. The role operates a manual band saw and processes steel to job specifications and drawings, while ensuring parts are measured accurately and equipment and the work area are maintained. The operator works closely with the Shop Foreman and Plant Manager.
Requirements
- Knowledge of structural steel shapes and sizes.
- Comfort working with machinery.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 of an inch.
- Experience operating an overhead crane.
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong focus on safety and quality work.
Responsibilities
- Operate a manual band saw to cut steel to length.
- Cut and process steel according to job specifications and drawings.
- Measure and verify parts for accuracy.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance, including greasing and oiling.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Work closely with the Shop Foreman and Plant Manager.
