About The Position
The ideal candidate will support the District’s mission and vision, and have the primary responsibility to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate extracurricular programs that provide students with an opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Academic Supplementals - Please Download: Required weekly documentation Individuals selected to for academic supplementals will provide regular updates to their administrators via a Student Academic Supplemental Activity Tracker , which will include a schedule of activities and the number of students who attend and signatures for each student attending per session. This position ends on the last day defined by your contract . You must reapply for this position to be considered for the upcoming school year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Pennsylvania Certification or a confirmed pathway to certification
- Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting Background Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) forms
- School Personnel Health Record and TB test
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field of study
- 2+ years of experience teaching in education environments
- Supervisory and leadership experience
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute developmentally appropriate group activities that can be implemented systematically throughout the year
- Help students to develop social skills and learn how to work in a team to achieve a shared goal
- Create an environment where students have the opportunity to explore different areas of interest, increase self-confidence, and build leadership skills
- Prepare learning materials, equipment and supplies, such as books, arts and crafts and stationery, as needed
- Lead and connect with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks
- Act as director, recorder, evaluator, manager, decision maker, advisor, motivator, communicator, coordinator, to ensure that the student can gain maximum experience of offered supplements
