About The Position

The Bakery Manager supervises the bakery department to ensure Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained. After training, Bench Department Managers are expected to fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of their home. If no position is open, they remain in the bench role until one becomes available.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of bakery operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure bakery department staff provide guests with polite, friendly service.
Achieve the bakery department’s budgeted sales, shrink, and profits.
Maintain desired inventory and supply levels.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help bakery department hosts meet performance standards.
Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as needed to meet standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Make PA announcements.
